Haaland’s 13 Goals: Manchester City’s Struggle to Utilize Star Striker

Erling Haaland, despite being second in the Premier League’s goal-scoring ranks with 13 goals this season, has only scored four times in his last 13 matches. Manchester City, currently seventh in the league, has won just one of their last eight games. Pep Guardiola, the team’s manager, insists that the team’s performance is a collective effort. He emphasized that Haaland’s form slump is not just about the striker but about how the team uses him. Guardiola stated, “It’s about us, it’s not just about one playing. When Erling was so prolific, it was about us, the team.” He also mentioned that the team needs to improve in various aspects to support Haaland better. City is preparing for their upcoming match against Everton on Boxing Day, with several players including Éderson, Matheus Nunes, and John Stones in doubt for the game.
