The Florida Panthers clinched back-to-back Stanley Cup titles, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 in the final game. They are the seventh team in the past 40 seasons to achieve consecutive championships. Under head coach Paul Maurice, the Panthers reached three Stanley Cup Finals in three consecutive full NHL seasons, a feat last accomplished by the Edmonton Oilers from 1983-85. The team set a record for the most goals scored on the road in NHL playoff history with 61 goals, surpassing the previous record of 49 set by Wayne Gretzky’s Los Angeles Kings in 1993. They also tied the record for the most road wins in a playoff run with 10 victories. Sam Reinhart led the Panthers with four goals in Game 6 against the Oilers. The team’s penalty minutes increased from 842 in their Presidents’ Trophy season to 1,116 in their second Stanley Cup-winning season under Maurice.

Florida Panthers have perfected “rat” hockey. The perfect combination of grit and skill. Can not only demolish teams on the scoreboard, but taunt them while doing so. Unreal playoff team. We are witnessing greatness.

Panthers vs Maple Leafs …
When Paul Maurice took over in 2022, he made significant changes to the way the Panthers play. No team dumps it in more, no team is better at recovering pucks and winning battles. Florida has won a playoff-high 56% of its puck battles…

The McJesus syndrome !! A delusional belief that one or two SUPER-STAR players is going to defeat a GENERATIONAL hockey team over 7 games. Unfortunately for the NHL, you will have to wait until Florida is out of their prime, or perhaps for Bob to retire as he’s pushing the
