New Census Data Reveals Staggering 3.4 Million Increase in U.S. Population Growth

The U.S. Census Bureau has released its “Vintage 2024” population estimates, revealing a significant increase in population growth over the past few years. This surge is primarily due to a revised methodology for estimating net international migration, which now includes “humanitarian” migrants such as border patrol releases and paroles. The updated figures show that from July 1, 2021, to July 1, 2024, the population growth was 3,386,610 higher than previously estimated in the “Vintage 2023” data. This adjustment reflects a more accurate depiction of net international migration, which had been underestimated in earlier reports. The new methodology was influenced by a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report highlighting discrepancies in previous Census estimates. The “Vintage 2024” estimates also include projections for the subsequent year, with 2025 numbers now projected based on the updated data.
