Georgia QB Carson Beck Out for Season: Here’s What You Need to Know

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck underwent successful surgery on his right elbow to repair his ulnar collateral ligament (UCL). He will miss the College Football Playoff. The surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles. Beck, who was injured in the SEC championship game against Texas, is expected to make a full recovery and resume throwing in the spring. Redshirt sophomore Gunner Stockton will start in Beck’s place. Stockton has appeared in four games this season, completing 12-of-16 passes for 71 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. He was sacked twice in the SEC championship game. Georgia will face Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl on January 1. Beck, rated as the No. 4 quarterback prospect for the 2025 NFL draft, led the SEC with 28 touchdown passes and threw for 3,485 yards this season. He also had 12 interceptions in 13 games.
