Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles, projected as the No. 2 pick in the WNBA draft, has decided to forgo the draft and enter the transfer portal. Miles, who has been in college for four seasons and is 22, is eligible for the draft but chose to use her remaining year of eligibility elsewhere. This season, she started all 34 games, averaging a career-high 15.4 points on 48.3% shooting. Her 3-point shooting improved dramatically from 22.8% last season to 40.6% this year. Miles and her teammates led Notre Dame to the No. 1 spot in the AP poll for the first time since 2019. However, the team struggled toward the season’s end, losing two of their last three regular-season games and exiting the ACC tournament in the second round. As a No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament, Notre Dame was eliminated in the Sweet 16 by TCU. Miles’ decision reflects a significant shift, as it’s uncommon for a player projected so high to return to college and enter the transfer portal.
