300 Aircraft to Feature Inflight Telemedicine: A Statistical Overview

Emirates has invested over $2.4 million to introduce inflight telemedicine on 300 aircraft. The initiative involves a partnership with Parsys Telemedicine, equipping planes with telemedicine stations. These stations boast high-definition video conferencing and secure data transmission. They include tools like a pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitor, thermometer, glucometer, and a 12-Leads Telecardia ECG. Vital signs are transmitted to a 24/7 medical support team at Emirates Group Headquarters in Dubai via the Parsys Cloud, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. The rollout of these stations across the 300 aircraft will occur over the next few years. In a related development, Delta Air Lines partnered with MedAire in 2023, providing flight attendants access to doctors through the MedLink app. Meanwhile, Air New Zealand collaborates with oVRcome to offer exposure therapy for fear of flying using VR technology.
