737 Maxes Soar: Boeing Delivers 60 Airplanes in June, Highest Since December 2023

Boeing’s manufacturing woes seem to be behind them as the company delivered a whopping 60 airplanes in June, marking its highest delivery rate since December 2023. The majority of these deliveries, 42 to be exact, were 737 Maxes, which have been plagued by production and safety issues in recent years. This surge in deliveries is a significant improvement from Boeing’s Q2 performance, where it handed over 150 planes – the best quarterly total since 2018.

The company also booked an impressive 116 gross orders in June, with 70 of those being net orders after cancellations and adjustments. This influx of new business has helped boost Boeing’s backlog to a staggering 5,953 as of June 30. To continue this momentum, however, the company needs FAA approval to increase its 737 Max production above 38 planes per month.

Boeing will report its Q2 results on July 29, with CEO Kelly Ortberg likely highlighting the company’s plan to increase production and deliveries. With these numbers in hand, investors will be eager to see if Boeing can sustain this momentum and continue to deliver – literally.
