Zion Williamson’s Return: A Statistical Comeback

Zion Williamson, sidelined since November 6 with a left hamstring strain, has entered the conditioning phase of his rehab. He’s expected to return to full practice next week. Williamson has played in only six games this season, averaging 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. His recovery is week-to-week. Brandon Ingram, out since December 7 with a high-grade left ankle sprain, is early in his rehab and will be reexamined in two weeks. The Pelicans have been hit hard by injuries, with all projected starters missing games. Trey Murphy III, the latest casualty, sprained his left ankle in a recent loss to the Nuggets and is day-to-day. Jose Alvarado, out since November 11 with a similar hamstring injury, has also started conditioning and is week-to-week.
