Dallas Mavericks’ star player Luka Doncic was forced to leave the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Christmas Day due to a left calf strain. The injury occurred late in the second quarter, and Doncic was ruled out for the rest of the match at halftime. He had previously missed two games due to a left heel contusion. During the game, Doncic managed to score 14 points in just 16 minutes of play. His season averages stand at 28.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game. This marks the third calf strain for Doncic in recent years, having missed the first three games of the 2022 playoffs and most of last year’s preseason due to similar issues. Despite his injury history, Doncic has been a first-team All-NBA selection for the past five seasons.
