Only 5 Coal Plant Proposals Left in OECD Countries

In the 38 countries of the OECD, there are now only five proposals for new coal plants. This marks a significant decline in coal plant development, reflecting a broader shift towards sustainable energy sources. The remaining proposals are primarily in Japan, where there are four, and one in Poland. This trend underscores the global movement away from coal, driven by environmental concerns and policy shifts towards reducing carbon emissions.
