The Broadway revival of “Othello,” starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, has set a new record for the highest weekly gross in Broadway history. Last week, the play earned $2,818,297 over eight performances. This figure surpasses the previous record held by “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” which grossed $2,718,488 for the week ending December 31, 2023. “Othello” also outperformed its own previous weekly gross of $2,637,158 from its first seven previews. The production, directed by Kenny Leon, boasts the highest ticket price of the week at $361.90, significantly higher than other top-selling shows. The play will run at the Barrymore Theatre until June 8.
