The Dallas Cowboys have appointed Klayton Adams, previously the Arizona Cardinals’ offensive line coach, as their new offensive coordinator. Adams, aged 41, brings a strong reputation for his work on the run game. Under his guidance, the Cardinals achieved the seventh-best rushing offense in the NFL last year, averaging 144.2 yards per game and ranking second in yards per carry at 5.3. James Conner, the Cardinals’ running back, rushed for 1,094 yards and scored eight touchdowns in 2024. In contrast, the Cowboys’ leading rusher, Rico Dowdle, who will be a free agent, managed 1,079 yards and only two touchdowns, with the team scoring just six rushing touchdowns overall. Adams’ hiring is part of a broader strategy by new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who will call plays, to bolster the Cowboys’ offensive line and running game. The team is also looking to fill positions at running back and wide receiver.
