4.8 Yards Per Carry: Steelers’ New Running Back Strategy Revealed!

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell to a one-year deal. Gainwell, aged 25, brings depth and a potential third-down option to the team. In his NFL career, he has rushed for 1,185 yards and caught 102 passes for 721 yards. Last season, Gainwell recorded 75 carries for 290 yards and a touchdown, with 12 carries resulting in first downs. Over four seasons, he averaged 4.2 yards per carry and 7.1 yards per reception, scoring 13 touchdowns. The Steelers needed to replace the production lost when Najee Harris, their 2021 first-round pick, left for the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year deal. Jaylen Warren, who averaged 4.8 yards per carry in his first three seasons with Pittsburgh, is set to be the lead back. The team also has veteran Cordarrelle Patterson under contract.

“big addition for one of the NFL’s best rushing attacks” THEY WERE BOTTOM 10 WITH 4.1 TEAM YARDS PER CARRY AND THEYRE ABOUT TO SIGN SOMEONE WHO AVERAGED FOUR YARDS PER CARRY LOOOOLLLL

Najee is a great guy and a hard worker. But his only positive stats come from the fact that he got the ball every other play. Jaylen Warren’s longest run is literally double najees. Averaging 3.7 a carry is just not elite

4th in carries. 26th in YPC. Other 4 in top 5 in carries were top 7 in YPC. Gonna be hard to get worse. Although, if there’s a coaching staff that can top their own anomaly, it’s the Steelers.
