621 Million Dollar Merger: Transcarent and Accolade Join Forces

Transcarent, a digital health platform, completed its merger with Accolade, a virtual healthcare company, for $621 million. Accolade shareholders received $7.03 per share. As of April 7, Accolade’s stock price was $7.02. The merger was financed by General Catalyst, 62 Ventures, and other investors. Transcarent focuses on oncology, surgery, and weight health, while Accolade enhances health plans and employer benefits. The combined entity will serve 20 million members and over 1,700 customers. Transcarent’s AI-powered WayFinding and pharmacy benefits will integrate with Accolade’s healthcare advocacy and virtual care services. In 2024, Transcarent raised $126 million in a Series D round, bringing its total funding to $450 million and valuation to $2.2 billion. In 2023, Transcarent partnered with ViewFi for virtual orthopedic care and acquired 98point6’s assets for up to $100 million. That year, Accolade reduced its workforce and office space as part of strategic adjustments.
