Philo Hits 1.3 Million Subscribers, $450M Revenue, and Eyes Profitability

Philo, a pay-TV service, has reached 1.3 million subscribers with a 20% year-over-year growth in 2024. The company disclosed its annual revenue of $450 million and anticipates its first profit this year. Philo has acquired TVOD outlet Row8, which will integrate into its service by 2026, and hired Edward King, formerly of Tubi, as Chief Product Officer. Philo offers 70 channels for $28 a month, positioning itself as a lower-cost alternative to other full bundles. The service, which began on college campuses, has transitioned to a general non-sports offering. Philo’s investors include Mark Cuban, AMC Networks, A+E Networks, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Paramount Global. The company aims for profitability in 2025 through product investments, efficient marketing, and expanding its standalone FAST service.
