Kevin Durant Joins Elite 30,000-Point Club in NBA History

Kevin Durant, at 36, has become the eighth player in NBA history to score 30,000 points. He reached this milestone with a free throw in the third quarter during a game against the Memphis Grizzlies, which the Phoenix Suns lost 119-112. Durant, who has been selected to his 15th All-Star team, now shares this prestigious club with LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, and Wilt Chamberlain. Julius Erving also achieved this when combining his points from the NBA and ABA. Durant has averaged 27.1 points per game this season, shooting at 52.8%. His career points are spread across his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder (17,566 points), Golden State Warriors (5,374 points), Brooklyn Nets (3,744 points), and now the Phoenix Suns (3,324 points). Despite trade deadline rumors, Durant remains with the Suns, who are trying to improve their 26-27 record.
