This move comes as the industry sees AI as a transformative force in content production. Wiedemann has previously advocated for content owners to benefit from AI advancements. He expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Mediawan’s international teams to adapt to AI’s rapid technological advancements. Leonine Studios CEO Fred Kogel highlighted the appointment as a sign of the collaborative spirit between Mediawan and Leonine in exploring AI’s potential to enhance creativity and drive growth. Notably, Wiedemann is known for producing hits like the Oscar-winning film “The Lives of Others” and Netflix’s first German original series, “Dark.”
