9 Years and $1 Million Later: The Shocking Stats Behind a Kickstarter Measuring Spoon Fiasco

The Polygons Kickstarter campaign, launched in 2016, aimed to revolutionize the measuring spoon with a unique origami design. It raised over $1 million from more than 30,000 backers, far surpassing its $10,000 goal. Backers paid between $8 and $12 per set, with some ordering up to 100 sets. Despite promising delivery by 2017, over a third of backers have yet to receive their spoons. The campaign’s creator, Rahul Agarwal, confirmed his identity and insists the project was never a scam. He claims spoons are currently being shipped and anticipates all orders will be fulfilled by 2025. Meanwhile, Polygons are being sold on social media, raising concerns among backers about the misuse of funds.
