In 2016, a Kickstarter campaign for Polygons, an innovative origami measuring spoon, raised over $1 million from more than 30,000 backers. The campaign’s goal was just $10,000. Backers paid between $8 and $12 per set, with some ordering up to 100 sets. The spoons were supposed to ship worldwide by 2017. However, nine years later, over a third of the backers have yet to receive their spoons. Despite claims of shipping, some backers suspect fraud as Polygons are now sold on social media. The designer, Rahul Agarwal, insists the campaign was not a scam and expects to fulfill all orders by 2025.
