Throne Sport Coffee, a brand that boasts 10g of protein per serving, has caught the attention of NFL star Patrick Mahomes, who has invested in the company as its second-largest investor and lead pitchman/product tester. What sets Throne apart from its competitors is its significantly reduced sugar content – a whopping 40% less than the average ready-to-drink coffee brand.
But how big is the market for this type of coffee? According to recent statistics, Americans spent a staggering $17.7 billion on ready-to-drink coffee in 2023 alone. With Throne’s unique selling points and Mahomes’ endorsement, it’s no wonder the company is looking to capitalize on this trend.
Interestingly, Mahomes has also expressed concerns about his future investments, including the possibility of investing in his own team, the Kansas City Chiefs, after he retires from playing. He’s also unsure about the stadium renovation or new build plans, citing concerns about player fatigue and planning issues that may arise with an 18-game season and international expansion.
