YouTube has taken decisive action against two major fake movie trailer channels, Screen Culture and KH Studio, by suspending their ability to earn ad revenue. This move follows a detailed investigation into their operations. Screen Culture, which produces AI-enhanced trailers mimicking popular franchises like The Fantastic Four and Superman, has seen its views and subscribers soar to 1.4 billion and 1.4 million respectively over the past two years. KH Studio, on the other hand, creates imaginative versions of films and series, such as a James Bond movie with Henry Cavill and Margot Robbie. Both channels were found to violate YouTube’s monetization policies, which require significant transformation of borrowed material and prohibit content designed solely to attract views or mislead viewers. As a result, these channels can no longer monetize their videos but have the option to appeal YouTube’s decision. Screen Culture’s founder oversees a team of twelve editors, producing up to twelve videos weekly.
