75% of Peak TV Production Continues: Series Mania Forum Adapts to Industry Changes

The Series Mania Forum, a key event for drama industry professionals, is adapting to the post-peak-TV era. Despite a 25% drop in production levels from the peak, Europe still sees high volumes of new content. The Forum introduces a new Buyers Upfront event, aiming to cater to the entire value chain from screenwriting to distribution. This year, the Forum expects around 100 top buyers from various global TV channels and platforms, with a significant European presence but also interest from the U.S., Japan, and other regions. The event will feature technical conferences, creative masterclasses, and showcases from major players like Netflix and Prime Video. Additionally, an IP market will facilitate connections for adaptation deals, with over 240 meetings last year. Despite the absence of MIPTV, Series Mania Forum anticipates stable or slightly increased attendance, focusing on its role as a launchpad for new series and a hub for industry networking.
