70-Year-Old Super Bowl Champion’s Impressive Stats Revealed After His Passing

Former NFL tight end Don Hasselbeck, who passed away at the age of 70, had a notable career spanning nine years. Drafted in the second round by the New England Patriots in 1977, he led the team with 46 catches, 808 receiving yards, and six touchdowns in 1981. Traded to the Los Angeles Raiders in 1983, Hasselbeck contributed to their Super Bowl XVIII victory, recording two touchdown catches during the regular season and blocking an extra point in the 38-9 win against Washington. He later played for the New York Giants, scoring a touchdown in a playoff win over the San Francisco 49ers, and finished his career with the Minnesota Vikings in 1985. Over 123 regular-season games, Hasselbeck amassed 107 catches for 1,542 yards and 18 touchdowns. His sons, Matt and Tim, also played in the NFL, with Matt earning three Pro Bowl selections and starting in the Super Bowl for the Seattle Seahawks after the 2005 season.
