49ers’ Wide Receiver Roster: Only 70 Receptions in 2024

The San Francisco 49ers traded Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders for a fifth-round pick, leaving a significant gap in their wide receiver lineup. The team now has five receivers under contract for 2025, who collectively managed just 70 receptions for 1,024 yards and five touchdowns in 2024. Brandon Aiyuk, the highest-paid among them with a four-year, $120 million extension, is recovering from a torn ACL and MCL. His return timeline remains uncertain, but he’s expected to take on the role of the No. 1 receiver. Jauan Jennings, who had a career-best season with 77 receptions, 975 yards, and six touchdowns, is in the final year of his contract. Ricky Pearsall, despite a challenging rookie year marked by injuries and a shooting incident, showed promise with 18 receptions for 247 yards and two touchdowns in the final three weeks. The 49ers are likely to seek additional talent in free agency and the draft, with 11 picks at their disposal.
