36-Year-Old Stafford’s Future in NFL: A Statistical Reflection

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, aged 36, has two years left on his contract. After a 28-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round, Stafford completed 26 of 44 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. He fumbled twice, losing one in the fourth quarter. Despite a rib injury, he played through the pain, which he said he had been dealing with for some time. Stafford’s playoff performance ties him with Kurt Warner for the most passing touchdowns in Rams history at 15. The Rams had a chance to win with a first down at the Eagles’ 21-yard line with 1:19 left but failed to score. Coach Sean McVay praised Stafford’s resilience and toughness, reflecting on the team’s journey from a 1-4 start to winning nine of their next 11 games.
