Daniel Jones, the free agent quarterback, has signed a one-year, $14 million contract with the Indianapolis Colts. He will compete with 2023 first-round pick Anthony Richardson for the starting quarterback position in 2025. Colts GM Chris Ballard has confirmed an open competition at QB, aiming to elevate the performance of all players involved. Richardson, who faced injuries in 2024, is now healthy and not seeking a trade. Jones, previously with the New York Giants, started 69 games over six seasons, throwing for 14,582 yards, 70 touchdowns, and 47 interceptions. His best performance was in 2022, leading the Giants to the playoffs with 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. The Vikings, Jones’ former team, now have only J.J. McCarthy as a potential starter after other quarterbacks signed elsewhere.
