The 2025 F1 Sim Racing World Championship is set to commence with 30 drivers from all 10 F1 teams competing for a $750,000 prize pool. This virtual competition, now in its eighth season, will unfold over three events and 12 rounds. The championship aims to boost engagement during the F1 winter break. The first event kicks off on January 14th with a 29-lap race at Melbourne’s Albert Park Street Circuit. Subsequent races will occur over the following two days, with the remaining eight races split into two events in February and March. The championship will be broadcast live on F1’s official YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook channels. Despite a peak viewership of over 400,000 during the 2020 lockdown, the 2023/24 season saw a decline, with a peak of 42,877 viewers in Event Two. The 2025 season promises to reignite interest in the F1 esports scene.
