In 2024, Netflix’s film viewership in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Korea, increased by nearly 20%. Over 100 APAC films reached the global top 10 list for non-English films during the year. Globally, Netflix members watch an average of seven films per month. The live-action adaptation of the manga series City Hunter led to a 900% increase in sales of the original manga. Netflix plans to expand its offerings in Asia, including two original zombie films from Southeast Asia and its first-ever animated film from Korea. In Japan, the film Bullet Train Explosion, a reboot of the 1975 movie The Bullet Train, was filmed on a real bullet train seven times, an unprecedented level of cooperation with JR East. In India, nearly half of Netflix’s viewership comes from films, with at least one Indian film appearing in the global Top 10 non-English list every week in the past year.
