United Airlines reported a 10% increase in “other” revenue, totaling $3.49 billion last year. This growth is largely attributed to higher spending on co-branded credit cards and increased airport lounge memberships. The airline has raised annual fees for its rewards credit cards and lounge passes. Over the past few years, United added about 17 million members to its MileagePlus program. The carrier also introduced new benefits for cardholders, such as ride-share credits and award flight discounts, to encourage more sign-ups. These changes reflect a broader trend among airlines to adjust loyalty programs and enhance perks for frequent flyers.
