SpaceX launched the seventh test flight of its Starship rocket, the tallest and most powerful rocket ever built, from its Starbase facility in Texas. The rocket, standing at 403 feet tall, is powered by 33 Raptor engines producing 16.7 million pounds of thrust. However, communication with the upper stage was lost about nine minutes into the flight. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a warning for pilots about potential debris from the rocket. Starship debris fell into the Atlantic Ocean within predefined hazard areas. The rocket was carrying 10 Starlink simulators, aiming to deploy them in space as a test. Despite the failure, the Super Heavy booster successfully returned to the launch site, marking SpaceX’s second successful “catch” during a flight. The Starship system, designed to be fully reusable, is crucial for NASA’s Artemis moon program.
