China’s 2025 Energy Goals: A Statistical Overview

In 2025, China aims to significantly expand its renewable energy capacity. The country plans to increase its solar and wind power capacity to between 200 and 300 gigawatts (GW). Additionally, China targets the installation of 65 GW of new energy vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. These ambitious targets are part of China’s broader strategy to reduce carbon emissions, with a goal to peak CO2 emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. The statistics highlight China’s commitment to sustainable energy, with a focus on enhancing its renewable energy sector. The 2025 targets are set to be discussed at the COP29 climate conference, where global leaders will review progress on climate commitments.
