Jasper Hoogendoorn’s Move to Talpa Studios: A 30-Country Format Success Story

Jasper Hoogendoorn, co-creator of the Emmy and Rose d’Or-winning format ‘The Traitors,’ has been appointed Chief Creative Officer at Talpa Studios. The Traitors, originally developed in the Netherlands, has been adapted in 30 countries. Hoogendoorn’s nine-year tenure at IDTV saw him create ‘The Unknown’ and produce local versions of popular formats like ‘Race Across the World’ and ‘Lingo.’ His new role at Talpa Studios, reporting to John de Mol and CEO Maarten Meijs, aims to enhance the studio’s portfolio and global ambitions. The UK version of ‘The Traitors’ saw a 55% increase in viewership from Season 2 to Season 3, with the latter reaching 9.2 million viewers after seven days of catch-up. Meanwhile, the U.S. version on Peacock grew its reach by 75% from Season 1 to Season 2. Talpa Studios, known for formats like ‘The Floor,’ is set to expand its creative horizons with Hoogendoorn’s expertise.
