In a recent basketball game, USC’s JuJu Watkins suffered a season-ending ACL tear. The injury occurred during the first quarter against Mississippi State. Statistics show that 50% of fans engaged in online bullying directed at Mississippi State’s Chandler Prater, who was guarding Watkins at the time of the injury. USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb stated there was no intent to harm Watkins. The game was physical, but no malicious play was evident. Despite this, Prater faced significant online harassment, leading her to disable comments on her social media. Watkins was carried off the court and will miss the rest of the season. USC advances to face Kansas State in the Sweet 16.
