In SailGP, a professional sailing league, 43% of the C-suite positions are held by women, a significant increase from 14% in 2021. This figure surpasses the 29% of female C-suite roles at Fortune 500 companies. The league mandates at least one female athlete per team during races and aims for two female athletes in key positions within five years. These positions include the driver, strategist, wing trimmer, and flight controller. SailGP also runs an Impact League, rewarding teams for promoting accessibility and environmental protection. The Canadian team leads this league due to its efforts in training and introducing new athletes to foiling. Additionally, 33% of SailGP’s directors and 52% of department heads are female. The league’s focus on inclusivity and sustainability has attracted a new fanbase, with over half of the attendees at the New Zealand Championships being female.
