The video game industry is facing a significant shortage of skilled specialists, with 75% of developers reporting difficulty finding the right talent. According to a recent survey, this shortage is particularly pronounced in areas such as code optimization and data analysis, where complex statistical models are used to improve game performance.
The issue is not limited to small studios; even large game development companies are struggling to find qualified candidates. In fact, 62% of respondents reported that finding skilled specialists was a major challenge for their studio. This shortage is likely to have significant implications for the industry as a whole, with many developers forced to rely on temporary or contract workers to fill gaps.
The statistics paint a clear picture: in an industry where data-driven decision making is increasingly important, the lack of skilled specialists is a major concern.

This is especially rough for big studios

Seriously, what dev creates a modern game with collectibles that randomly spawn throughout a playthrough and also frequently glitch out or turn invisible unless viewed from specific angles and zoom distances?
And with no in-game way to track them. The devs had to make a guide.
