75% of Game Developers Report Difficulty Finding Skilled Professionals

According to recent reports, Testronic has announced plans to shut down its outsourcing studio Secret 6 Madrid, citing difficulties in finding skilled professionals as the primary reason. This news comes amidst growing concerns about the industry’s ability to sustain itself without a steady supply of talented developers.

The report highlights that 75% of game developers struggle to find qualified candidates, with 62% stating that the lack of skilled professionals is affecting their business operations. Furthermore, 55% of respondents reported an increase in job postings remaining unfilled for extended periods, indicating a severe shortage of talent.

These statistics underscore the pressing need for the industry to address this issue and develop strategies to attract and retain top talent.

All most of us want is basic search functionality – right now we’re stuck going through mountains of pages to find a given item, product, or date of version. This is across the entire Creator Dashboard too, the UX is a bit irritating. This is especially rough for big studios
