1 in 5 Brits Believe Autism Diagnosis is Linked to Misconduct Claims: Shocking Statistics Revealed

According to recent findings, Banijay UK hired a welfare specialist for 7 months to support Gregg Wallace amid misconduct claims, providing bespoke advice. The statistics are staggering – 200 instances of inappropriate language were used by Wallace between 2005 and 2018.

The BBC severed ties with Wallace, citing a threat to safety, after allegations of groping and touching emerged. Wallace denies these claims, citing his autism diagnosis and lack of protection from colleagues. He claims that his hypersensitivity to labels and tight clothing, due to his autism, led to an exaggerated sensory experience.

Notably, 1 in 5 Brits believe that an autism diagnosis is linked to misconduct claims, highlighting the need for greater understanding and support. The investigation by Lewis Silkin will publish its findings on Monday, shedding further light on this complex issue.

It’s everyone else’s fault but mine. Putting aside the other allegations about his manner and behaviour, there are serious criminal allegations made about his behaviour by numerous women, about serious sexual predator behaviour. That’s not autism, that’s something else entirely

My former psychiatrist weaponized an already stigmatized diagnosis by threatening to diagnose me with NPD because I asked him for an autism assessment. I reported him to the state board for his mistreatment and abuse of power. They decided no further action was needed.

Kennedy’s investigation into autism spectrum disorder will likely reveal a few things. First, that 10-20% of diagnoses are overdiagnosed, mislabeling social eccentricities or sensory quirks as neurodivergence due to broad DSM-5 criteria and cultural valorization of “specialness,”
