90% of Industry Groups Submit Deregulatory Wishlists to FCC

The Federal Communications Commission’s “Delete, Delete, Delete” initiative has attracted significant attention from industry groups. In response to Chairman Brendan Carr’s call for public input, 90% of the comments received were deregulatory wishlists. Major broadband providers like AT&T and Verizon, along with top lobbying groups for cable, telecom, and mobile broadband industries, submitted their requests. Satellite companies SpaceX and Amazon’s Kuiper also joined in, seeking deregulation in their sector. Other participants included prison phone company Securus, TV broadcasters, and groups advocating for less stringent robocall rules. The initiative, aimed at eliminating unnecessary regulatory burdens, had an initial comment deadline, with reply comments due by April 28. This widespread industry response highlights the significant interest in reducing regulatory constraints across various sectors.
