Riot Games has launched Twitch subscriptions for League of Legends esports broadcasts. Subscribers gain access to ad-free viewing, exclusive chat rooms, and in-game rewards. For the first Split of 2025, subscribers will receive the “Why Though?” emote. The rollout began with the LCP’s Japanese Twitch channel and will expand to other regions between January 15th and January 18th. Only paid and gifted subscriptions qualify for rewards, excluding Prime subscriptions. Emotes can be used across other Twitch channels. A portion of the subscription revenue will support Riot Games’ leagues and teams worldwide. This initiative follows a successful test during the 2024 LCS playoffs. The rollout aligns with the start of the first splits in EMEA, the Americas, China, and Korea, leading up to the First Stand event in March.
