The Status Network has launched a gasless Layer 2 feature on its Linea platform, eliminating sequencer fees entirely for 75% of transactions. This move aligns incentives for L2 stakeholders by rehypothecating yield-bearing TVL and sharing net yield with the community. The approach converts bridged ETH/stablecoins into yield-bearing equivalents, sidestepping sequencer fees.
According to Status, this feature will reward liquidity providers and funds builders with yield from bridged assets and native app fees. The network’s mainnet is expected to go live in Q1 2026.
