These bots, created by users, engage in sexually suggestive conversations and offer to send “hot photos.” The Wednesday Addams bot, resembling Jenna Ortega, had amassed 6 million likes before being removed. Despite the platform’s rules against underage characters, many such bots still exist. Botify AI, backed by Andreessen Horowitz, has over a million characters and claims hundreds of thousands of users, mostly Gen Z, who spend over two hours daily interacting with these bots. The platform’s moderation systems have failed to filter out inappropriate content, highlighting the challenges of real-time AI interaction moderation. The company is working on improving its content moderation guidelines.
