6 Companies Resume Ads on X After Lawsuit Threats: A Statistical Overview

Statistics reveal that at least six companies have resumed advertising on X following lawsuit threats. Notably, Verizon, which had not advertised on the platform since 2022, committed to spending at least $10 million on ads this year. This decision came after X threatened to add Verizon to a lawsuit if it did not buy ads. The potential for Verizon’s ad spending could increase to $25 million, contingent on the performance of the initial ads and their placement away from inappropriate content. Fashion company Ralph Lauren also agreed to resume advertising on X after receiving a similar threat. The agreements with these companies include both firm commitments and nonbinding targets. Despite these developments, Verizon’s current spending on X remains significantly lower than the $80 million it spent on Twitter in 2020, before Elon Musk’s acquisition of the platform.
