Krafton, the developer behind PUBG, has introduced a new Global Power Rankings system. This system, developed with data platform OP.GG, will integrate individual player statistics such as kills, damage dealt, and survival time into team rankings. The new system is 75% more complex than the previous one, which only considered cumulative scores and placements. It will also account for varying levels of competition across different regions and adjust for tournament schedules. The updated rankings will play a key role in selecting teams for the PUBG Esports World Cup in Riyadh this summer. Details on the World Cup’s dates, format, and prize pool are yet to be announced. The new system’s announcement comes just before the PUBG Global Series (PGS) 7, starting April 28 in Shanghai. PGS 7 will feature 24 teams competing for a $300,000 prize pool. Following a one-week break, these teams will participate in PGS 8, with both events contributing to PGS Points that determine qualification for the year-end PUBG Global Championship in December.

Apr 8 Someone clarify the rank one if I’m not getting it, doesn’t this make it easier to get higher up than before? Before was still easy you earned more for a win than a loss up until GM? And the map rotation is taking 2 maps out and adding 1 in?
