50 Champions Banned in Final Game: LEC 2025 Winter Split Unveils New Format and Monster

The 2025 LEC Winter Split introduces a new monster, Atakhan, which has two forms based on the number of kills by the 14th minute. Teams can earn improved boots by securing two out of three early objectives. The jungle has been reworked for symmetry. The LEC will maintain its three-split format, but each will have a unique structure. The Winter Split features a 10-team best-of-one (BO1) round-robin group stage, followed by a double-elimination playoff. A new Fearless Draft system will ban champions previously played in a series, potentially removing 50 champions from the final game. This system will not be used in the first three weeks, where BO1s determine playoff seeding. The playoffs will use a single patch (15.3 / 25.S1.3) for competitive integrity. All teams have undergone roster changes, with no team retaining the same lineup from the previous Summer Split. The competition begins on January 18th, with playoffs starting February 15th, followed by a break before the international event, First Stand, on March 10th.
