Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen won the NFL MVP award with 27 first-place votes, edging out Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who received 23 first-place votes. This victory marks the first time in 21 seasons that an MVP winner was not a first-team All-Pro. Allen’s win breaks a trend where MVP winners typically also earn first-team All-Pro honors. Historically, only John Elway in 1987 and Steve McNair in 2003 won MVP without being first-team All-Pro. Despite Jackson’s superior statistical performance, including 4,172 passing yards and 41 touchdown passes, Allen’s leadership and team success were pivotal. Allen led the Bills to a 13-4 record and the AFC East title, becoming the first player to record at least 25 touchdown passes, 10 rushing touchdowns, and fewer than 10 interceptions in a season. His MVP win also earned him a $1.5 million bonus.
