Paige Bueckers scored 34 points in her final game at Gampel Pavilion. This performance tied her career high and set a new personal best in the NCAA tournament. Bueckers led UConn to a 91-57 victory over South Dakota State. She joined Maya Moore as the only players in UConn history with multiple 30-point games in the NCAA tournament. UConn advanced to its 31st consecutive Sweet 16, extending the program’s NCAA record. Bueckers shot 14 of 21 from the field, including 7 of 8 from midrange and 3 of 5 from beyond the arc. She also achieved the 50-40-90 shooting threshold for the season, making all three of her free throws. UConn forced 25 turnovers from South Dakota State, which shot 41% from the field compared to UConn’s 57%. The Huskies will face Oklahoma in the Sweet 16.
