A recent manifesto from the Heritage Foundation outlines potential policies that could significantly impact the game development industry. According to the document, these policies could harm up to 50% of game developers. The manifesto, intended for a possible future administration, suggests changes that could affect large portions of the community. These proposed policies have raised concerns about their potential negative effects on the industry. The statistics highlight the severity of the situation, indicating that half of the game development workforce might be at risk if the manifesto’s recommendations are implemented.

I’ve never seen a game so against it’s creators before.
NO protection for assets, horrendous taxing, and now this?

Developers say, “Business as usual! Plans are moving along! Right up until the deadline, when their whole plan vaporizes. Require them to put up 5% or 10% or whatever in bonds as a surety to build. We enable this bad behavior. We can legislate community-centered requirements.

> At this point, it’s become a pattern. Roll out a new paradigm, sell it hard, ignore the warning signs, then drop it and move on when the problems become too obvious to hide. Every time, developers are left scrambling to keep up, and companies are stuck cleaning up the mess.

These tools will shape reality to the programmer’s will and for the most part people won’t even be aware of it. No wonder they’re being so agressively pushed by every single government. This is an extremely dangerous path for humanity going forward.

Yeah, most people probably shouldn’t be doing development deals.
There’s a ton of risk involved and one bad deal can bankrupt an average person

If anyone can create games by simply describing ideas, the demand for developers with advanced programming, design, and engineering skills could decline, reducing the value of their hard earned expertise.
