Hemi Labs, a modular blockchain, has launched its mainnet with a total value locked of $440 million. The project, founded by early Bitcoin developer Jeff Garzik, aims to create a “single supernetwork” by unifying Bitcoin and Ethereum. Hemi combines the security of Bitcoin with the programmability of Ethereum. Last September, the project secured $15 million in funding led by Binance Labs. Hemi has attracted dozens of protocols for deployment, including Sushi, pumpBTC, RedStone, and Pyth. The initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance decentralized finance by bridging Bitcoin’s value with Ethereum’s smart contract capabilities.
