Cboe has filed amended documents with the SEC to allow staking in several spot ether ETFs. This comes after the SEC previously blocked staking in ETFs. The price of ether rose 2% in the past 24 hours following the news. Cboe, linked to five ether ETF issuers, including Fidelity and Franklin Templeton, filed for the Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH) and Franklin Ethereum ETF (EZET). The SEC’s stance on staking has shifted under acting chair Mark Uyeda. Analysts expect the SEC to approve staking in ETFs this year. Beyond ether, companies are setting up ETFs for other digital assets like Solana, XRP, Sui, and Aptos.
