A staggering 20% of spreadsheet files are lost forever, highlighting the need for efficient management systems to avoid duplication, version confusion, and support multiple uploads. According to a recent study, the average organization uses over 100 spreadsheets, with each file containing an average of 50 sheets. This translates to a massive 5,000 sheets per organization, making it crucial to implement structured management solutions.
Currently, spreadsheet files are loaded manually, leading to issues such as version confusion and duplication. In fact, 75% of organizations experience difficulties in finding specific spreadsheets within their existing systems. Moreover, 60% of users spend more than an hour searching for a single file, resulting in wasted productivity time.
To address these challenges, experts recommend implementing file structures, metadata tagging, or automation to streamline spreadsheet management. By doing so, organizations can reduce the risk of lost files by 90%, increase search efficiency by 80%, and boost overall productivity by 50%.

If your agency still uses spreadsheets to manage clients, you’re bleeding time.
Manual tracking =
Missed deadlines
Scope creep
Zero visibility
Switching to a proper project management system saves 5–8 hours/week.
That’s 1 whole workday… every single week.

The Google Verification team now claims I can completely get rid of the spreadsheets.readonly scope and only rely on drive.file. But when I do so, listing sheets and named ranges fails.
I’ll have to investigate further. I hope it’s not a never ending misunderstanding.
